Paxton Bristol is a first-year player on the women’s soccer team. She joined the V-hawks after graduating from Mohave high school in Bullhead, Arizona. She also played soccer for Las Vegas Sports Academy. Now, playing at the intense collegiate level, Bristol has been thriving. When asked about how she is adjusting to the collegiate level, she responded, “I feel like moving from club and high school soccer to the speed and intensity of the collegiate level took a bit of adjustment, but the team works so well together that it’s just been a great experience.”
With adjusting quickly, Bristol played a total of 14 games and scored 13 goals while having a shot percentage of .214%. She was one of the few leaders on her team for goals and set the pace. Bristol has shown great authority on the field and dedication. When asked about how her personal strength contributes to the team’s dynamic, she responded, “I feel like with being a front I really have set the pace, along with the other fronts. We’re all quick to the ball and beat the defenders.”
Bringing her personal contributions to the team has led the women’s soccer team to having eight overall team wins, seven of which were conference wins. Bristol was then asked why she chose to come to this university specifically, in which she said, “Honestly, the team and coach were very welcoming. It felt different from my experience with other visits.”
Between the team dynamic, the commitment and hard work, Bristol has made her mark and become an early leader. When asked about the most rewarding moment with the team, Bristol responded, “I can’t really say there’s a specific moment. I feel like showing up every day, showing out and just being with the team is rewarding itself.”
With this, we see just how dedicated Bristol is to her team. Whether it be practice, games or morning lifts, Bristol values the presence of her team and the family like the community they provide. Meanwhile, she still excels on the field as a first-year, making it exciting to see how she grows in the future and succeeds.
